LTR prepares a validated product design for volume manufacturing. This is the phase between a successful DVT and the first production run. It includes design-for-manufacturing (DFM) analysis, supplier identification and qualification, NPI (New Product Introduction) planning, and production documentation. The objective is to enter first production with no surprises: a design reviewed for manufacturability, a qualified supplier or contract manufacturer, a production-ready BOM, and a clear production and quality plan.
- Post-DVT: The design is validated and ready to transition to volume production.
- Supplier transition: Moving from a prototype supplier to a volume contract manufacturer.
- Cost reduction: An existing product requires supplier change, BOM cost reduction, or second-source qualification.
