Prototyping

Functional prototype builds and validation cycles — from first EVT build through DVT sign-off.

WHAT IT IS

LTR supports clients in building and validating functional prototypes for hardware product development. We work across hardware (PCB design and assembly), firmware (embedded software to drive prototype hardware), and mechanical (enclosures, structural components, mechanisms). Prototypes are built to validate design decisions against requirements — not for presentation. Each validation cycle — EVT, DVT — is managed with a test plan, documented results, and a defined set of design actions before the next iteration begins.

WHEN IT APPLIES
  • EVT: Does the hardware function as designed? First functional builds after the initial design is complete.
  • DVT: Does the integrated system meet the product specification? Subsequent cycles incorporating EVT design actions.
  • Pre-certification: A functional unit is needed for pre-testing before regulatory submission.
  • Partner qualification: A manufacturer or investor requires a functional unit for evaluation.
WHAT LTR DELIVERS
  • Prototype build package — BOM, schematics, Gerbers, mechanical files
  • Component sourcing for prototype quantities
  • Assembled and tested prototype units
  • EVT/DVT test plan and test report
  • Design action list from validation results
  • Iteration management through multiple prototype cycles
WHAT YOU GET

A validated, functional prototype with documented test results — and a clearly defined set of design actions before the next iteration or the move into manufacturing preparation.
